Honda has launched its new electric scooter named U-GO. It is designed for urban riding as the scooter is light-weight . Honda U-GO has been launched in two versions i.e., the scooter has two different speeds and power.

The first model is the standard model which comes with a top speed of 53 kmph, it comes with a 1.2 kW and a motor that can create a peak output of 1.8 kW. 

The second model comes with the lower speed model that's 43 kmph ,it sports an 800 W continuous hub motor with a peak power of 1.2 kW. 

Moreover both the models offer a 48V and 30Ah removable lithium-ion battery . The capacity of the battery is 1.44 kWh. The powertrain offers a range of 65 km, which can be increased by 130 km by the addition of a second battery.

The price of the all new Honda U-GO varies depending on its model. The price of the first model (high speed) is CNY 7,999, which is around Rs 91,860 in Indian currency and the second model (low speed)is 7,499 RMB ($1,150) which is ₹85,000 in Indian currency.

The scooter has a clean and minimalist yet sporty design which will appeal to younger buyers,It has LED headlight with triple beams on the front apron and an LED DRL strip encircling the main cluster.The indicators of the scooter are neatly integrated on the sides of the handlebar. The blacked-out panels on the handlebar, floorboard, underbelly, tail section, rear suspension and rear mudguard add a sporty contrast to the scooter.

At the back it reflects the light of the LED tail and the single-lane rail that covers the body. It has a long floorboard 350mm in diameter. The features of the U-Go e-scooter is quite interesting as it gets a fairly spacious boot with an under-seat storage capacity of 26 litres. It too has LED illumination, a utility glove box, an anti-theft alarm and a USB charging port. One of the most important features is that it gets an LCD instrument console which provides information like speed, range, battery status and riding mode. The scooter runs on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels.

The most important specification of U-Go is that it is powered with a 48V 30Ah Lithium-ion battery The battery is a removable battery pack which is coupled with a 1.2kW hub motor on the regular model. The second variant that is the low-speed variant gets a less powerful 800W motor. The powertrain returns a maximum range of 65km which can be doubled to 130km by the addition of a second battery. The addition of the second battery comes at the cost of reduced under-seat storage.The regular variant, which is a high speed variant, offers a top speed of 53 kmph. The weight of the scooter is just 83kg kerb.

The Suspension duties of the U-Go are handled by telescopic forks at front and dual shock absorbers at rear with preload adjustability. The braking system consists of a disc brake at front and a drum brake at rear. It has a very accessible seat height of 740mm.
